Privacy Policy.
This policy explains how StageLab Remaps handles personal data when you visit the website, create a trade account, purchase credits, submit jobs, upload files, request support or otherwise communicate with us.
We aim to collect and use only the information reasonably needed to operate the StageLab website, B2B file portal, payments, customer support and business records.
Who is responsible for your data
StageLab Remaps is the controller of personal data processed for the operation of this website and file-service business, except where another organisation acts as an independent controller for its own service.
Information we may collect
- Account and identity information such as name, business contact details and email address.
- Account-security information, including password hashes, verification/reset records and security-related technical data.
- Job information, vehicle details, ECU/TCU information, requested services, uploaded original files, completed files and associated support messages.
- Transaction information such as credit purchases, payment status, amounts, currency and payment references. We do not need to store your full payment-card number when payment is processed by the payment provider.
- Communications sent through email, WhatsApp, support tools or other StageLab contact channels.
- Technical and security data such as IP address, timestamps, browser/request information, login attempts and server/security logs where generated by our systems or hosting environment.
- Cookie and similar technology information as described in our Cookie Policy.
How we obtain information
Most information is supplied directly by you when registering, buying credits, creating a job, uploading a file or contacting StageLab. Some technical data is generated automatically when you interact with the website, and transaction status may be received from payment providers used to complete a purchase.
How we use personal data
- Create and administer customer accounts and authenticate users.
- Provide ECU/TCU file services and manage the ORI-to-MOD job workflow.
- Process purchases, allocate credits and maintain transaction records.
- Send service, verification, password-reset, job and account communications.
- Respond to support and business enquiries.
- Prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access and protect the website and customers.
- Maintain accounting, tax, legal and operational records.
- Establish, exercise or defend legal claims and enforce our terms.
- Improve and maintain the reliability and functionality of the service using appropriate operational information.
Why processing is permitted
Depending on the activity, StageLab may process personal data because it is necessary to perform a contract or take requested steps before entering one, to comply with a legal obligation, or because StageLab or another party has a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights.
Legitimate interests may include operating and securing the service, preventing fraud, maintaining appropriate business records, supporting customers and establishing or defending legal rights. Where consent is legally required for a particular optional technology or marketing activity, we will rely on consent and provide a way to withdraw it.
Who may receive data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to service providers supporting StageLab, such as website/hosting infrastructure, email delivery, payment processing and professional advisers, or where disclosure is required by law, a regulator, court or competent authority.
Providers are expected to handle information according to their role, contractual obligations and applicable data-protection requirements.
Payment processing
StageLab uses third-party payment infrastructure to process supported online payments. Payment providers may collect and process payment and anti-fraud information under their own privacy terms. StageLab receives information needed to identify and record the transaction, such as payment status, amount and transaction/session references.
International transfers
Some technology or service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, StageLab will rely on an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or on a provider that supplies the required safeguards.
How long information is kept
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing the service, maintaining file/job history where appropriate, support, security, accounting and tax records, dispute resolution and legal obligations.
Different records can require different retention periods. Information that is no longer reasonably required will be deleted, anonymised or otherwise handled appropriately, subject to technical backup cycles and legal requirements.
How we protect information
StageLab uses reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including account authentication, password hashing, access controls, request protections and security monitoring appropriate to the service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so customers should also protect their credentials and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access.
UK data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, individuals may have rights to request access to personal data, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability and information about certain automated decision-making. Where processing is based on consent, consent may be withdrawn without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Rights are not absolute and legal exceptions may apply. To make a privacy request, contact files@stagelabremaps.co.uk. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request.
You may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your data-protection rights have been infringed.
Cookies, Google Ads and similar technologies
StageLab uses cookies or similar storage where necessary to operate sessions, account security and other essential website functions. StageLab also uses the Google tag for Google Ads advertising measurement. Google Consent Mode is configured with optional advertising and measurement storage denied by default; those optional storage permissions are granted only when a visitor selects “Accept optional”. A visitor may reject optional storage and can reopen Cookie settings to change the choice.
Google may receive consent-state or limited cookieless measurement signals depending on Consent Mode and applicable Google settings. See the Cookie Policy for further information.
